Tayah-Jo takes home raft of trophies
We love it when our Make a Difference Award winners keep in touch with us. And that’s just what happened when we were tagged in a post on Instagram last week by Tayah-Jo Hudson, who was awarded funding from the trust in 2022.
Tayah is a talented teen, who has been dancing with Dynamic Dance Studio in Burnley since October 2019, before joining their competitive team in August 2020.
Earlier this month, Tayah was awarded 1st place in the beginner freestyle category at Stand Out UK, while her team came second in the immediate category. She then made is a trophy hat-trick when she scooped another second place in the intermediate street dance duo performance.
Tayah’s mum, Jodie, told us: “Tayah competed in two competitions and then we read about Dan’s Trust and the support we could potentially receive from them. It all sounded too good to be true but we applied and Tayah was awarded funding.
“The money has helped immensely towards Tayah attending comps as they can be as far as Stoke on Trent and sometimes are for a full weekend, so involve hotel stop-overs. The money has also allowed Tayah to attend workshops to help gain more knowledge and more foundations in her genre of dance.
“Being part of the dance world is very expensive and requires Tayah to have team, solo and duo outfits, which can become costly so the funding has contributed towards these too. Without Dan’s Trust, Tayah would not be able to do as much dancing and competing as she does and we are eternally grateful for your support.”
Congrats Tayah on all of your recent wins and achievements. Keep dancing and doing what you love!
