Chair of Trustees – Ian Bagshaw

Ian started legal life at Eversheds in Leeds, becoming a partner at Clifford Chance before leading and building out global private equity teams out at both Linklaters and White & Case.

Spending over 25 years as a solicitor, Ian took retirement from his first career in July 2021.

Outside of law, Ian enjoys a number of advisory roles (especially in respect of fast growth companies). He is  also fulfilling his passion for social mobility as chair of Zero Gravity.

Ian is passionate about giving back and making a difference for young talent, especially in his home region of East Lancashire. Having come from a working class background in Accrington to go on to qualify as a solicitor , he recognises how hard that journey can be.

The idea for a charity that would pay back and help local talent was one that Ian and his 2 brothers Gary and Dan shared. The fact it is now done in memory of Dan, their younger brother, gives the brothers an increased motivation to make it work.

Ian devotes a material amount of time to being the chair of the trustees at Dan’s Trust.
